Welcome to the homepage of the Telemedicine Centre of The Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The Faculty of Medicine has a strong interest in telemedicine and conducts regular multidisciplinary teleconferencing and telediagnosis with institutions in Hong Kong, overseas and China. It is a recognised Area of Excellence for further development in the Faculty.

A backbone of broadband LAN using ATM has been set up linking all Departments, wards, theatres, laboratories and outpatient departments at The Prince of Wales Hospital, the teaching hospital of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. It also links with the basic medical science departments at the main University campus. Telemedicine to outside insitutions is also conducted at four fully equipped designated sites: Telemedicine Centre, Pathology Conference Room, Lecture Theatre, Seminar Room 1 and the teaching areas in the Postgraduate Education Centre such as Shaw Auditorium and Kai Chong Tong etc at the Hospital. The medical school is also closely associated with the Hong Kong Telemedicine Association, the secretariat of which is at the Hospital.
